As we enter another period of lockdown it is important to keep your and your staff’s CPD up to date. Not only will you need to meet the CPD requirements of your professional bodies, but also your clients will expect you to be up to speed with the latest tax and accounting developments, particularly during a period which will cause so much uncertainty for businesses.
PTP’s Andrea Battison, our ‘On Demand’ expert, explains why subscribing to our TAXtv and AccountingTV programmes is a no-brainer in what is becoming the new normal.
“Our programmes are ‘On Demand’ which means exactly that, the products are available to watch when you want, wherever you want making them ideal, especially in the current situation.
The simple way to access CPD
I speak to lots of firms and individuals about how it all works. It really is so simple. The programmes can be accessed via a single login, as a group or individually with simultaneous access no problem, so no worries with lots of individuals accessing at one time. Plus, from an admin point, there’s no worries about setting up lots of user details.
Sole practitioner or multi-office firm – a CPD package which works for everyone
There are a few ways TAXtv and AccountingTV are used across firms.
Sole practitioners love to be able to keep up to date with the latest information. They appreciate having the discussion points to stimulate their thought processes with regard to actions to take for their clients and then, with larger firms, some watch as group sessions (in the same room) set up once a month and then discuss and others, especially with lockdown restrictions, employees watch individually from home or the office. In some cases, firms then set a monthly date for a team/zoom or conference call for everyone to go through their opinions and advice from the programme and how that can help the firm and its clients. Setting a monthly ‘get together’ can be a great way to give a timescale for each episode, encouraging that self-discipline that we all lack at times.
How the programmes work
Both programmes are based on an annual subscription, with TAXtv offering monthly updates (11 episodes plus a budget edition). AccountingTV provides quarterly updates.
At the beginning of each month a new edition of TAXtv is uploaded to the website (quarterly for AccountingTV).
Subscribers are alerted by email which contains a quick overview of the episode's content. Each episode, which last approximately 45 minutes is also available in chapters, so you can dip in and out as it suits.
A schedule of discussion points pertinent to the episode is available and by signing and returning the discussion points, viewers can use TAXtv and AccountingTV to count towards their CPD points/hours.
Subscribers are also able to download the programmes to their local machines to view offline at their convenience. In addition, subscribers logged into the website can view the complete archive of previous episodes at the click of a mouse.
The subscription licence is valid for 12 months after this time access will revert to free content only - downloading monthly episodes is recommended.
Great CPD at an affordable price
Our annual subscriptions for TAXtv start from £199 + VAT, for 1 to 2 offices. AccountingTV is just £99+VAT for 1 or 2 offices.
TAXtv and AccountingTV represent excellent value for money. They are a great way to keep the conversation going and move your firm forward with the best knowledge available.
Why not sign up and get immediate access. That’s 12 months access to current episodes, including access to all episodes from 2020 and the full back catalogue.
