Autumn Budget Update

A late Budget speech is often said to indicate content that the Chancellor would rather was not discussed in great detail before Christmas. The announcement of a 26th November budget should, along with the day to day media scrutiny of the Treasury’s potential announcements, raise more than a little concern for advisers. It seems almost certain that tax increases or fundamental changes will be announced with dividend tax, VAT and property tax among the areas being discussed by tax experts. Giles will lead advisers through the changes and what they will mean to them and their clients in a series of 1.5 hour online sessions within 24 hours of Rachel Reeves’ speech. With the budget so close to the Christmas break and tax return deadline, a clear understanding of what might need to be done for clients as quickly as possible after the speech, certainly before the end of the year, makes attendance at these sessions a must.
