About Us
The History of PTP

PTP was founded as The Professional Training Partnership in 1991 by Tim Good and Steve Mayhew, who recognised that the growing emphasis on CPD in the accounting and law professions created a need for focussed, expert training courses. Operating from a base in Oxford in the early days, we took briefs from practising firms, training consortia and professional institutes to prepare and deliver bespoke training throughout the UK.

As PTP's reputation grew, others joined us as partners or as associates, increasing the range of specialist topics we can address. Clients were to be found across the whole of the UK, from Truro to Shetland and from Norwich to Belfast. With the addition of Giles Mooney as a partner and the creation of PTP Limited, we began running our own seminars and conferences. These are now concentrated in centres across the country, where a yearly mix of update and specific topic seminars provide the update and CPD needs of practitioners and their staff. They are supplemented by presentations on the Chancellor's Budget announcements. From our new base in Northamptonshire, PTP continues to support the tax and accountancy professions with incisive and topical training packages.

The development of online training was quickly spotted by PTP and the launch of TAXtv and AccountingTV has seen us reach new audiences across the world while recording broadcast quality programming from studios just outside Northampton. With MLR training, client newsletters and Auto Enrolment start up packs joining the ongoing full range of training options, PTP continues to educate and entertain while helping our clients help their clients.
